I first met Lisa Bradshaw, when she was a guest on my radio show, way back in the year 2000. At that time, she had written a book about overcoming cancer, and for reasons ony known to the cosmos, we have stayed connected these past twenty-three years. I've been witness to her courage in the face of the loss of her husband, steadfastness in raising her son as a single mom, her brillance in writing books, and her passion for helping people, especially when it comes to managing our wellness, so we don't have to deal with illness unprepared. She is, by definition, a true force of natue.

JB is back in the Chicago area for a concert on March 1st, and I'm always happy to promote and support his agenda of bringing people together, one song at a time. Internationally known filmmaker Bill Bennett, sought out some of the world’s leading experts in fear management. He wanted to understand how fear worked, and how to best manage it. Featuring such luminaries as Dr Joe Dispenza, Dr Bruce Lipton and Caroline Myss, the resulting film is a unique perspective that examines fear scientifically and spiritually. Hold on to your lugnuts for this one, time for a serious belief system overhaul.

Super Bowl Memories

There are only a handful of men, who played in both Super Bowl I & II-and HOF Green Bay Packer guard Jerry Kramer is one of them. It's a special Throwback Thursday episode, as we roll back the years to 1967 & 1968, for a close up look at the game, when tickets cost $12 bucks and long before all the pomp and circumstance that has become the 2nd most watched, largest global sporting event in the world. 

The Final Countdown.

I checked in on a friend this past week, who shared with me the devastating news that his wife has a terminal condition. Our conversation once again had me thinking about life expectancy, the concept that we are all terminal on some level, and that living the time we've been given-and using it up-should be a priority, that often gets overlooked, until we face the final countdown. The sands of time, in the hourglass of life, only drain one way.

Success or Significance?

So, what does a heating pad, Kim Kardashian, a four speed Opel Manta, David Letterman, Dave Chappelle, country superstar John Berry and Netflix all have in common? They are the puzzle pieces for a look at the concepts of success or signficance when it comes to building a life. No really.

Bitter or Better?

This past Thursday was the 45th anniversary of my 2nd rebirth. I was 19 years old, and died on the floor of an Osco Drug store after suffering an electric shock. The pharmacist who stayed late that Friday night in 1978, saved my life with CPR. One of the great lessons my 2nd chance gave me, is that we need to deal with our sh*t before it deals with us, because life is too short to major in minor things. You can either get bitter or better, but not both.

Does Prayer Work?

Prayer is the default setting for a massive number of humans, including myself at times. But after watching people pray for years to end to wars, gun violence and disease, I find it all fascinating. Where we apply prayer, and the different reactions to unanswered prayers. Is it effective? Does it really work? Who decides? More questions than answers in this episode.
